Miami Beach’s own Jason Loeb, owner of Sudsies Dry Cleaners, is partnering with Miami Book Fair’s literacy initiative, Read to Learn Books for Free. The goal is to collect new and gently used children’s books between April 2nd and May 1st and to make them available to kids who don’t have access to books.

In partnership with The Children’s Trust, Read to Learn Books for Free has set up 40 bookshelves all over Miami, at juvenile court, community service offices, clinics, parks and community centers. The bookshelves are stocked with 5,000 books a week that are generously donated by our community for children to take home and enjoy.

We know some of you may have children’s books that are stored away and looking for a good home. As part of the Sudsies delivery service our clothing concierges will, not only pick up your dry cleaning, but will also pick up new and gently used children’s books. Just put the books in the bag, and we’ll make sure your clothes are returned clean, and that your books get into the hands of our community’s children.

You can also drop of your books at one of Sudsies two boutiques, 6786 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach or 12711 Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami. Read to Learn Books for Free will have a collection bin at each boutique between April 2nd and May 1st, ready to accept your children’s book donations.

Said Marci Cancio- Bello, director of Read to Learn Books for Free, “Given how many books we distribute on a weekly basis, it is only with the support of Sudsies and the community that we can meet the need. Thank you all!”
