Gala season is wrapping up. And if your schedule was busy as ours, your formal wear has to be a little party pooped. To ensure that you’ll be just as dapper next year, we suggest you professionally clean these items ASAP. Sudsies is South Florida’s number one dry cleaner specializing in high-end garments, including tuxedos, designer labels, and even couture/hand-sewn pieces.

In the meantime, here are a couple tips to help you maximize your garments’ cleaning.

  • Tuxedos and Suits: Once a season, it’s important to dry-clean jackets, pants, and/or vests all together, even if you think one piece might be in a better state than the other/s. This way, all will retain the same coloring and overall form that can occur over its cleaning lifespan.
  • Gowns: Stains can be unsightly, but removal is probably best left to a professional. If one occurs, try to identify it right away so you can note the type to your Sudsies highly trained technicians. Think you got off clean? At the end of the season, it’s probably best to get in one good cleaning with a quality dry cleaner before placing back in storage, as there can be “invisible” stains (sweat, hairspray, perfume) that can become noticeable over time.
  • Embellishments: Place and fallen beads, sequins, or other embellishments in an accompanying zip-lock and our tailoring team is happy to mend during your dress’s Sudsies visit.
  • Storage: Once returned, store fresh items on wooden hangers and in canvas bags (never plastic) to avoid any moisture from locking in and causing damage. Keep in a cool, dark place.

Gala season is all about getting the right causes promoted and proceeds raised… but it’s always fun to look and feel good while doing it too. Call the Sudsies luxury dry cleaning team anytime with any of your formal wear needs!
