Originally published by the Miami Herald on December 11, 2016 Article By: Debra Leibowitz “Your clothes will love us,” is the registered trademark for Sudsies Dry Cleaners. Today, not only do garment owners have reason to love the business, but so does the environment. The company was founded in 1996 with its original location in North Beach (67th and Collins Ave) by long-time local resident Jason Loeb. Today, Sudsies has expanded to include over 100 employees, a large main dry cleaning facility in North Miami and a fleet of 23 trucks providing pickup and delivery service throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Sudsies was recently named the State of Florida’s #1 Green Dry Cleaners by the Green Cleaner’s Council. The company has been a member of the Council since 2009. In addition, independent garment analysis in May 2016 verified that all of the cleaning methods and additives used by Sudsies are ecofriendly and contain no carcinogens. “People send us clothes from all over the country,” says Loeb, 48. “Our trademark signifies to consumers how important their business is to us. We’re in the people business. We take care of them and their clothing and are proud to be the cleanest and the greenest in the state of Florida,” he adds. Born in Brooklyn, Loeb was raised in Miami Beach. He attended Lehrman Day School and Miami Beach Senior High before earning a business degree from Florida State University. Several of Loeb’s management team members are also long time locals, including business partner/ COO in charge of operations Jorge Baboun (a Miami Country Day grad); Henry Calix, Santiago Espin and three Beach High grads: General Manager Luis Moreno (with Sudsies for 20 years); Sales Manager Jason Cespedes (15 years) and Fleet Manager Gabor Kondorosi. A recent tour of the immaculate Susdies’ plant at 12711 Biscayne Boulevard was eye opening: there are parking spaces jokingly reserved for Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch, a nod to the vast couture cleaning department. There is a bed linen division, a restoration department and full wet-cleaning department. Three employees preinspect all incoming garments and someone who just replaces buttons. The plant operates 18 hours per day. “Ask your dry cleaner for a tour of their operations,” says Loeb, “and see if they truly take pride in what they do.” Loeb says he feels proud and lucky to be where he is today (married with children and living in Bay Harbor). He believes in taking leadership roles and giving back to the community – and has served as Chairman of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Mt. Sinai Medical Center Foundation and served as Chairman on the City of Miami Beach Board of Adjustment for the past six years. Loeb’s motto: “Set expectations. Then deliver.” To learn more, call (305) 864-3279 or visit www.sudsies.com.
