Dry cleaning is a mystery to most. Eco-Friendly Full Service Dry Cleaning is an even bigger mystery. The process might not involve water, but does involve liquid. At Sudsies, your garments are immersed in an eco-friendly solvent then heated to remove soil, dirt and stains.

In the 1930s, perchloroethylene, or PERC, became the standard for cleaning fabrics. While the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) considers PERC to be hazardous for both our health and the environment, a majority of cleaners still use it today. But, not Sudsies!!!

There’s a reason we say “Your clothes will love us.” Sudsies PERC-free, Eco-Friendly Full Service Dry Cleaning method uses water and specialized detergents. Our EPA-sanctioned process is friendly on fabrics and eliminates hazardous chemicals and toxic waste, making it safe on sensitive skin.

It’s not just our methods and products that are environmentally-friendly. Conservation begins with our complimentary pick-up service. Our fleet of valets have optimized routes, resulting in more pick-ups while covering fewer miles – saving fuel and reducing our carbon footprint. Our cleaning process combines biodegradable detergents and conditioners. Garments are placed on high-quality, recyclable hangers and wrapped in recyclable plastic covers before making the trek back to you.

In 2016, our eco-friendly full service dry cleaning efforts earned us the distinction of being the first 4½ leaf dry cleaner in Florida. Sudsies remains one of just two South Florida cleaners with this merit. The Green Cleaners Council is the prestigious panel that reviews and ranks dry cleaning companies’ eco-efforts. Part of the Council’s guidelines include:

  • wet cleaning capabilities
  • recycling programs (hangers, plastic, water, etc.)
  • investment in technology, goods, and services that exceed regulatory requirements (use of biodegradable plastics, carpooling program)
  • water and energy conservation, the use of alternative energy program, carbon offset programs, energy efficient, and hybrid vehicles, etc.
  • education and training in environmental regulations and compliance

As Kermit the Frog says: “It’s not easy being green.” Everyone at Sudsies agrees it’s certainly the most responsible and conscientious choice for us, our customers and the environment.
